Measure the run
String line along where the fence will sit. Measure corner to corner. Gates need their own width subtracted from panel count and two posts minimum per opening.
Posts and concrete
Posts every 6–8 ft are typical for wood panel fencing. Each post needs a hole below frost depth with concrete — use the Concrete Bag Calculator per hole or ask your supplier for a mixed load.
Slopes and corners
This planning model is for a straight, level run. Stepped slopes need racked panels or custom cuts — add an extra panel on long graded runs.
Corners need their own post. Count them separately from line posts.
